PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head suitable for a magnetic card by using, as core material, magnetic alloy wherein Fe, Co, and Si are contained as main components by each specified weight percentage and Cr and Ru are added by each specified weight percentage. CONSTITUTION:As core material of a magnetic head for a magnetic card which material uses magnetic recording medium having especially high coercive force characteristics, the following magnetic alloy is used; CO of 1-20wt.% and Si of 6-13wt.% are contained, Cr of 1-10 wt.% and Ru of 0.02-1wt.% are contained in a single state or a compounded state, and the residual part is essentially composed of Fe. Hence a magnetic head having high hardness and low coercive force which is excellent in corrosion resistance can be constituted. |
