PURPOSE:To enable reversal development with a negative electrostatically charged two-component developer which develops a negative electrostatically charged image by using the negative electrostatically charged two-component developer consisting of toner and carriers and specifying the particle size distribution of the particle size of toner particles and the volume means particle size of the toner. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous silicon photosensitive body which can hold the negative electrostatically charged image and the negative electrostatically charged two- component developer consisting of the toner and carriers are used, a developer carrying body which carries the negatively electrostatically charged two-component developer on the surface and the photosensitive body are arranged at a development part at a constant interval, and the two-component developer is applied on the developer carrying body and conveyed to the development part to perform the development. The toner contains 12-60 pieces % toner particles of <=5 mum in particle size, 1-33 pieces % toner particles of 8-12.7 mum in particle size, and <=2.0 vol. % toner particles of >=16 mum in particle size and has a particle size distribution of 4-10 mum volume mean particle size of the toner. Consequently, the negative electrostatically charged image is developed faithfully and a high-density image is obtained without any fog. |
