PURPOSE:To enable development with single-component magnetic toner which develops a digital latent image and an analog latent image by using the single- component magnetic toner and specifying the particle size distribution of the particle size of magnetic toner particles and the volume means particle size of magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic amorphous silicon photosensitive body which holds the digital and analog electrostatically charged images and the magnetic toner are used, a toner carrying body which carries the magnetic toner on the surface and the photosensitive body are arranged at a development part at a constant interval, and the magnetic toner is controlled to thickness less than the gap on the toner carrier and conveyed to the development part to perform the development. The magnetic toner contains 12-60 pieces % magnetic toner particles of <=5 mum in particle size, 1-35 pieces % magnetic toner particles of 8-12.7 mum in particle size, and <=2.0 vol. % magnetic toner particles of >=16 mum in particle size and has the particle size distribution of 4-10 mum volume mean particle size of the magnetic toner. Consequently, the digital latent image and analog latent image are developed faithfully to obtain a high- density image without fogging. |
