Drive system for pneumatic motor

The pneumatic motor drive system comprises cylinders connected in series. Each cylinder has a closed pressure-expansion chamber (15), contg. a constant amt. of compressed air, pressurised before the working stroke, and thrusting a plate-type piston (5) during the working stroke. The cylinder also contains a pressure reversal chamber (16) connected by a controlled relay valve to the pressure supply, and by a further such valve to a pressure reversal pipe (28). The air from one reversal chamber is stored in that of the next cylinder in the series to act on the air in the respective expansion chamber with flow assisted by a compressor.
