A banknote reader comprising an upper component 2 and a lower component 3 joined together, between which is a slit 4 through which the banknotes 5 are inserted, is made by a method involving moulding a series of identical plastic components 2, 3 with, on an outer wall 8, a longitudinal groove 9, which are then connected together in a mutually symmetrical position, with the grooved 9 walls 8 in mutually opposite positions, thus defining an upper component 2 and a lower component 3 between which the slit 4 is defined by the opposing grooves 9. Lastly, pulleys 14a, b, 15a, b are installed with closed elastic loops for driving 11 the banknotes, and banknote checking sensors 13 positioned between the outer wall 8 and other side walls 6, 7 adjacent to it. <IMAGE> |
