PURPOSE:To effectively generate the musical sound of a sustained sound system even when an improper performance operation element is used as an operation element of a musical instrument of the sustained sound system such as a keyboard as to an electronic musical instrument having a physical model sound source for simulating the musical instrument of the sustained system such as a rubbed string instrument. CONSTITUTION:The musical instrument of the sustained sound system is applied as a physical model and the electronic instrument is equipped with a sound source which inputs physical model performance information corresponding to the physical image of the physical model and generates a musical sound; and performance information is outputted with a performance operation element together with pitch information and plural kinds of pattern of time variation in physical model performance information inputted to the sound source are interpolated according to the performance information to read out the physical model performance information.
