CATALYST FOR DECOMPOSITION OF FLUOROCARBON AND TREATMENT OF EXHAUST GAS CONTAINING FLUOROCARBON

PURPOSE:To decompose fluorocarbon which is one factor to damage the earth environment. CONSTITUTION:The above-treating method relates to a catalyst for decomposition of fluorocarbon comprising a titania-zirconia multiple oxide and transition metal elements deposited on the multiple oxide, also treating fluorocarbon by bringing a discharged gas containing fluorocarbon into contact with the catalyst to remove fluorocarbon in the gas. Therefore, fluorocarbon can be decomposed and removed by a simple method using an oxide catalyst which can be easily, obtd., moreover, gives no decomposed matter or harmful byproduct which hardly treated in post processes, which prevents secondary environmental pollution.
