The ankle prosthesis according to the invention comprises a tibial component (T), an astragalar component (A) and an intermediate component (I). The latter is joined to the tibial component (T) in such a way that it has a freedom of translation, with respect to the latter, only in the anteroposterior direction. It is joined to the astragalar component (A) by means of a hollow surface at its base which is congruent with the upper convex surface of the astragalar component (A). These surfaces have circular curvatures in the sagittal plane and in the lateral plane, in such a way as to permit flexion-extension movements and valgus and varus movements. <IMAGE>
