PURPOSE:To drastically reduce the quantity of data by allowing a host computer to manage all texts transferred to a terminal, and in the case of transferring a text having the same pattern, transfer only its pattern number. CONSTITUTION:The host computer 5 is provided with a host buffer accessing means 2 for inputting/outputting texts to/from a host buffer 1 and a host communication means 4 for executing communication with the terminal 10 and the terminal 10 is provided with a terminal communication means 7 for executing communication with the host computer 5, a terminal buffer 9 for storing texts transferred from the host computer 5 and a terminal buffer accessing means 8 for inputting/outputting texts to/from the buffer 9. In the host computer 5, whether a text sent from the means 2 has been already transferred to the terminal 10 or not is judged, and when the text is the same text existing in the terminal 10, the text is converted into a pattern number and the pattern number is sent to the means 4.
