The invention concerns an absorbent material consisting of one or several layers permeable to liquids and an absorbing body having a high absorption and retention capacity for aqueous liquids, characterized by a structure consisting of a wrapper 1 made of a formed-fabric-type of material of an organic polymer, an intermediate tissue layer 2 made of an organic polymer, an absorbing body 3 composed of chemical pulp and an absorbent for aqueous liquids and a binder stabilizing the wrapper as well as the use of said absorbent materials for the production of absorbent bodies, inlays and pads. The invention also concerns a structure comprising such an absorbent material in combination with a wrapper impermeable to liquids.
