Starting control for gas turbine engine - has electronic control for progressive start=up with intermediate speed and final operating speed
摘要
The fuel injector (2) is fed by parallel pumps (4,4') with variable output. For start-up pressure sensors monitor the fuel injection pressure and the turbine pressure to set an optimum injection rate to start the engine. A second control phase takes over as soon as burn is achieved and runs up the turbine to a first set speed. From this level the turbine is progressively run up to the operating speed. The starter runs up the turbine to a lower optimum speed for the initial burn. The whole control is via sensors and an electronic control. The control also regulates the fuel supply by varying the drive pulses to the pumps. ADVANTAGE - Does not require larger starter motor, progressive start-up sequence.
