PURPOSE:To downsize an ultrasonic motor without dropping the performance by providing an engaging part in the radial direction of a rotor, and rotating a driven body through this engaging part. CONSTITUTION:A sliding member 6 is bonded to a rotor 5, and it rotates, receiving the progressive oscillatory waves of the projection 1b of an elastic body 1. An engaging part 5a is provided in the radial direction of the rotor 5, and it discharges its duty of stopping the relative rotation between the rotor 5 and the driven body 8, engaging with a plurality of engaging parts provided at the driven body 8. The engaging body 5a is provided at the neutral surface of the rotor 5, and minimizes the influence that the engaging part 8a of the driven body 8 gives on the vibration of the engaging part 5a of the rotor 5. Hereby, the ultrasonic motor can be downsized without deteriorating the performance. |
