A current differential protective relay is provided to reduce an operation time by outputting a relay operation signal without the result of the rate differential operation of an opposite end. A first restraining current part(16) produces a first restraining current by the sum of current effective values of one end and the opposite end. A first rate differential operation unit(18) outputs the result of the rate differential operation based on the first restraining current and the differential current as the first rate differential operation result. An output unit(21) outputs the relay operating signal based on the result of the first rate differential operation. A second restraining current part(17) produces a second restraining current by the sum of the current effective values of the one end and the opposite end. A second rate differential operation unit(19) outputs the result of the rate differential operation based on the second restraining current and the differential current as the second rate differential operation result.
