A solid state photographing apparatus and a camera apparatus are provided to thin the number of read pixels to improve a frame rate, thereby improving image quality. Unit pixels(101) comprise respective pixels. Each unit pixel has photo diodes and amplifiers inside pixels. Row control lines and column signal lines are provided about matrix-shaped pixel arrangement of a pixel array unit(102). A row address and row scanning of the pixel array unit are controlled through the row control lines by a row scanning circuit.
