PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having a long life and a high light-emitting efficiency, and an aromatic amine derivative for achieving the same. SOLUTION: This aromatic mine derivative having an indene structure and a chrysene structure is provided. Also, the organic electroluminescent element in which an organic thin film layer consisting of one layer or a plurality of layers containing at least a light-emitting layer is nipped/held between an anode and a cathode is provided with that at least one layer of the organic thin film layers contains the aromatic amine derivative singly or as a component of a mixture.
