PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refuse removing device for a water intake port by which floating objects inhibited from passing to the screen side by a netting place can be easily removed, and smooth water flow to the water intake port can be secured. SOLUTION: The refuse removing device for the water intake port comprises the screen arranged in the water intake port of a water intake path branched from a main stream and connected to a power generating unit, and a netting place arranged at an upstream stage of the screen. The net place is provided with a float and a net material connected to the lower part of the float. The float and the net material are arranged to mark the boundary between the main stream side and the water intake path side. The net place is fitted to one of facing revetments to define the water intake port in a manner that the end in the breadthwise direction of the water intake port is vertically slidable and is rotatable around an axis extending vertically, and is provided with a changeover means for rotating the net place to the main stream side.
