PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform suction head, having a relatively simplified structure, and capable of holding a preform or releasing the holding while inserting a part of the head into the preform without vertically moving the whole body. SOLUTION: The suction head 20 adapted to suck and hold a preform 100 by vacuum sucking a mouth part 103 of the preform comprises a rotor 21 having a projection storage hole 21a provided at the lower end to be opened to a lower surface 21b facing the mouth part 103 of the preform 100, and a suction path 32 provided in the inner part to connect with the projection storage hole 21a; and a movable member 22, to which one end of a gas passage 36 connected to the suction path 32 is opened, the movable member having a projection part 22c to be inserted into the preform 100 in suction holding at the lower end, and being provided within the projection storage hole 21a so that the projection part 22c is movable between a protruding position where it is protruded from the lower surface 21b of the rotor 21 and a retreat position where the projection part 22c is retreated into the rotor 21.
