PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scum removing device capable of efficiently adsorbing and removing scum of oil floating on the upper surface stock when cooking simmered dishes or one-pot dishes or when eating while cooking. SOLUTION: The scum removing device 1A includes a scum adsorption part 3 made of nonwoven fabric containing hydrophobic fibers, and the scum adsorption part 3 has a plurality of strip parts 5 of strip shape which is formed by being cut from the peripheral edge of a flat material N1 and a compression structure part 7 formed by squeezing the root side of the plurality of strap parts 5 and separating and spreading free ends 5b of the plurality of strap parts 5. Since the plurality of strip parts 5 of the scum adsorption part 3 is formed with the compression structure part 7 on the root side, the free ends 5b are separated from each other and spread, the surface area of the nonwoven fabric which can be utilized for the adsorption of the scum or oil is remarkably improved, and the scum or oil generated in cooking are efficiently adsorbed and removed.
