The system has a rectangular protective housing (3), which is cage-likely formed and surrounds sensors (4-6). Cage elements (15-18) are arranged in a direction of a measuring object. The cage elements are upstream to the sensors, and sensor rays pass between free spaces of the cage elements. The protective housing serves as a support and a retainer for a sensor unit (7). The protective housing is made of a flexible, elastically, and/or plastic deformable material. The protective housing has a baseplate (8) connected with a hand axle (1) of a joint arm robot (2).
