A paper sheet processing device has a receiving section (30) for receiving bundled paper sheets (P), a kicker roller (2) rotating to apply driving force to the lowermost paper sheet (P) of the bundled paper sheets (P), a gate mechanism (5) for holding the paper sheet (P) to which the driving force is applied by the kicker roller (2) and advancing the paper sheet (P) along an advance surface, and a pressing member (11) for pressing from above the paper sheets (P) received in the receiving section (30). The gate mechanism (5) has a feed roller (3) provided to the receiving section (30), and also has a gate member (4) placed facing the feed roller (3). A guide roller (10) rotatable in the direction in which paper sheets (P) are advanced is provided to the lower end of the pressing member (11).
