<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate transfer apparatus facilitating work of maintenance such as exchange of a timing belt and preventing a printed board from being deteriorated. <P>SOLUTION: The narrow timing belts 18 are stretched between a pair of pulleys 13 and 14 arranged at an end of an upstream side and an end of a downstream side of transfer chutes 11 and 12, respective rollers 15 installed between the pair of pulleys 13 and 14, and pulleys 16 disposed on output axes of driving motors 17 constituted of servo motors and stepping motors, which can be synchronized. The timing belts 18 are stretched between the pair of pulleys 13 and 14 from outside, and between the rollers 15 from inside. Parts positioned below the timing belts 18 are stretched between the pulleys 16 from below.
