PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that when a recording head is moved from a position opposing a paper conveying passage to a position opposing a keeping and recovering mechanism by turning it around, it is impossible to prevent interference between a nozzle face of the head and a conveying face from occurring while breakage of a nozzle meniscus is suppressed. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is equipped with the recording heads 5m, 5c, 5k and 5y for delivering liquid droplets, a conveying belt 43 opposing the head 51 and conveying a paper P, and the keeping and recovering means 6m, 6c, 6k and 6y arranged on the side of the conveying belt 43 along the paper conveying direction and performing keeping and recovering of the head 51. The recording heads 5m, 5c, 5k and 5y are turnably supported between a position opposing the conveying belt 43 and a position opposing the keeping and recovering means 6m, 6c, 6k and 6y. A pressing roller 44 for lowering parts opposing the recording heads 5m, 5c, 5k and 5y by pushing down the conveying belt 43 is provided so as to be swingable when the recording head 5m, 5c, 5k and 5y are turned for keeping and recovering.
