PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of providing high light distribution performance while enhancing the utilization efficiency of light from a light source in a head lamp for a vehicle. SOLUTION: The head lamp for the vehicle includes: a first reflecting surface 12 making a light source in an approximate focal point, installed in the upper part as viewed from the optical axis X which is a horizontal axis passing a light source position, and forming low beam light distribution by the reflected light; a first shading member 13 installed in a position correctly facing the first reflecting surface 12 on the surface vertical to the light axis X, and shading the light path of light unnecessary for forming the low beam light distribution out of light paths from the light source 11 to the first reflecting surface 12; a second reflecting surface 14 installed on the correctly facing side to the first reflecting surface 12 on the surface vertical to the light axis X and comprising an elliptic system reflecting surface making the vicinity of the light source 11 in a first focal point and reflecting the light of the first focal point in a second focal point, forming the basic surface shape in the elliptic system reflecting surface and having unevenness of prescribed roughness on the surface; and a third reflecting surface 15 making the second focal point of the second reflecting surface 14 in an approximate focal point and installed in the lower part as viewed from the light axis X, and forming auxiliary light distribution to the low beam light distribution by the reflecting light.
