<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver enabling even a media player having no installed software for an externally equipped tuner to receive or reproduce broadcast. <P>SOLUTION: The receiver 1 includes: a connection section 3; an antenna 4; a tuner 5 to output a broadcast media file based on broadcast radio waves received by the antenna; a buffer section 6 for storing the broadcast media file; a file information storage section for storing file information for performing a simulated operation as an external storage; and a control section for controlling the above sections. The control section causes the external apparatus to output a fact that the external apparatus is an external storage, and causes the file information storage section to store file information based on the broadcast media file and causes the external apparatus to output the file information.
