PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC switch for preventing certainly generation of arc. SOLUTION: The DC switch includes a contact part 1 having a semiconductor switch 11 connected in series to a mechanical contact 10 and the mechanical contact 10, an equipment body 2 which includes a power supply connector 2a and a load connector 2b and houses the contact part 1 while inserting between the power supply connector 2a and the load connector 2b, a switch mechanism part 3 which includes an operating handle 30 for manual operation installed in free displacement on the equipment body 2 and opens and closes the mechanical contact 10 of the contact part 1 according to operation of the operating handle 30, a position detection part 4 which detects an operating position of the operating handle 30, and a control part 7 which switches on and off the semiconductor switch 11 based on the detection result of the position detection part 4. The control part 7, when the semiconductor switch 11 is in switched-off state and if it determines that the operating handle 30 is operated from an open position to an input position by the detection result of the position detection part 4, switches over the semiconductor switch 11 to switch-on state.
