The invention relates to a prefabricated reinforced concrete house 1 with a foundation formed by reinforced concrete beams 6 spanning between piles 5 in the ground. The foundation beams 6 may be stepped at their ends and interlock to form a rectangular ring. Prefabricated reinforced concrete floor panels 11 are mounted on the beams 6 to form a floor. Upstanding pre-cast reinforced concrete wall panels 16 form inner side walls of the house 1. Triangular gables 26 formed by reinforced concrete panels 27, 28, 29 are mounted on top of opposite side walls and a roof is mounted between the gables 26. Foam insulating panels (40 figure 4) are fitted to an exterior of the side walls and an outer side wall (45 figure 4) is then constructed outside the foam panels and parallel to the inner side walls. The interior of the house 1 may then be fitted out as required and can be subdivided into separate rooms by stud partition walls. |
