<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, in which a pressure releasing function and a decompressing function are realized at the same time and mechanisms for releasing pressure and decompressing in paper jamming are realized by the same member in spite of simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus equipped with a pressing part P pressing either of a pair of members 32 and 33 forming a nip part to the other is equipped with a pressing control member 43 releasing the pressing of either member in the pressing part P as a main body cover 45 is opened when a pair of members 32 and 33 is housed in an apparatus main body, and a switching part 48 switching the case the member 43 is made effective and the case the member 43 is made ineffective to forcibly release the pressing of either member by the pressing part P. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
