<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library information management system that allows a user to obtain any desired material simply by reserving it once and to receive the material at the nearest library, while also allowing library personnel to easily perform processes for lending and returning materials. <P>SOLUTION: To manage materials possessed separately by a plurality of libraries, the material that can be lent earliest, among the materials possessed by the plurality of libraries, is specified on the basis of the library that is to receive a catalog of materials and the material both of which are designated by the user.
