PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating CO in a dry waste gas by which CO, dioxin and a malodorous component contained in the dry waste gas is economically removed. SOLUTION: The dry waste gas generated from a dryer 1 or the like for a sludge or refuse is heated in a deodorizing furnace 3 to be deodorized and a part of CO is combusted. After that, the dry waste gas is cooled down to 300-500 deg.C through a heat exchanger 2 and contacted with a nobel metal based catalyst in a catalytic reaction column 5 to oxidize and decompose the remaining part of CO. The dryer 1 is preferably provided with a plate like stirring blade. |
