<p>An air conditioner (1) for driving a compressor (31, 31a, 31b) by a water cooling type engine (40) to perform air-conditioning operation including a clutch (38, 38a, 38b) for connecting the engine and the compressor so that the engine and the compressor are connectable to and separable from each other, a cooling water temperature detector (61) for detecting the temperature of cooling water of the engine, and an engine controller (60a) for performing cooling water temperature managing processing of releasing the connection between the engine and the compressor through the clutch when the cooling water temperature of the engine detected in the cooling water temperature detector is lower than a predetermined reference value during stop of the operation of the engine, and operating the engine until the cooling water temperature of the engine reaches a predetermined target value.
