METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTRA PREDICTION

An intra prediction method and an apparatus thereof are provided to reduce time, required for intra prediction, by performing the intra prediction before reconfiguration of a previous sub block is completed. An intra prediction method performs intra prediction through plural prediction modes with respect to plural sub blocks included in a macro block. The intra prediction is performed with respect to a first sub block of the plural sub blocks. Before reconfiguration of the first sub block is completed, the intra prediction is performed through a prediction mode which does not use pixels, included in the first sub block, as a reference pixel. According to a predetermined order, the intra prediction is performed with respect to a second sub block of the plural sub blocks.
