METHOD FOR ADAPTIVELY TRANSFORMING RESOLUTION IN DIGITAL BROADCASTING RECEIVER

An adaptive picture quality conversion method for preventing a memory in a digital broadcast receiver is provided to increase display efficiency by adaptively converting HD class broadcast or SD class broadcast. Signal-noise ratio of the HD class broadcast signal received from a broadcast station is measured(S300, S302). The measured value of the signal-noise ratio exceeds the first standard value capable of the SD class picture quality regeneration(S304). The measured value exceeds the secondary reference value capable of the HD class picture quality regeneration. If the measured value is the interval of the secondary reference value and the first standard value, the HD class broadcast signal is transformed to the SD class picture quality. The measured value exceeds the secondary reference value. The HD class broadcast signal is reproduced as the HD class picture quality.
