PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen gas blowing lance which is high in durability, can be used much more times than heretofore and contributes to the reduction of manufacturing cost, and to provide a desiliconization method of molten iron using the blowing lance. SOLUTION: The oxygen gas blowing lance 1 for blowing the oxygen gas into the molten metal has a double-tube structure composed of an inner tube 2 and an outer tube 3. The oxygen gas is blown from the inner tube, and the hydrocarbon-based gas is blown from a gap between the inner tube and the outer tube. Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>-MgO-C based refractory containing 10-50 mass% MgO, 1-10 mass% C is coated on the circumferential part of the outer tube. In the desiliconization method, the oxygen gas blowing lance is dipped into the molten iron, and the oxygen gas is blown from the inner tube of the blowing lance into the molten iron, and simultaneously the hydrocarbon-based gas is blown from the gap between the inner tube and the outer tube, thereby oxidizing/removing the silicon in the molten iron.
