An image signal processor and an image signal processing method thereof are provided to improve image quality without a false contour, a motion blur, and a rounding error by moving each sub field according to a movement vector. A frame delay unit(110) generates a light emitting pattern without non-emission subfield between a first subfield and a second subfield comprising one frame of an input image signal. A motion estimation unit(120) estimates and outputs the motion vector between a prior frame and a current frame by using the pixel value of the prior frame outputted from the frame delay unit and the pixel value of the current frame. An inverse gamma correction unit(130) performs an inverse gamma correction of the inputted RGB image signal and outputs the corrected signal. A pattern generating unit(140) generates the light emitting pattern of each subfield comprising one frame. A pattern moving unit(150) moves the light emitting pattern generated based on the motion vector estimated in the motion estimation unit. A dither coefficient output unit(160) outputs the dither value given according to the frame order of the inputted RGB image signal and a position of the pixel. A pattern selection unit(170) selects and outputs one among the subfield candidate groups for expressing the light emitting pattern according to the dither value outputted in the dither coefficient output unit.
