<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric parking brake that is compact, lightweight and low in production cost by storing a winding part of a parking wire inside an engagement part with the worm of a worm wheel. <P>SOLUTION: The electric parking brake has the worm wheel 3 driven by the output of an electric motor 1 via the worm 2, and the parking wire 14 is pulled to actuate the parking brake. The engagement part 16 with the worm 2 is formed in the circumferential direction at both sides of the outside circumferential surface of the worm wheel 3. A recessed groove 17 is formed continuously in the circumferential direction of the worm wheel 3 over the distance of the engagement part 16. By passing the parking wire 14 through the groove 17 and by fixing its one end inside the groove 17, this groove 17 provided inside the engagement part 16 of the worm 2 with the worm wheel 3 is used as the winding part of the parking wire 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
