<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric ceramic composition constituting a piezoelectric element having high piezoelectric strain constant d<SB>33</SB>and high Curie temperature Tc. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric ceramic composition contains (a) complex perovskite type Bi<SB>0.5</SB>Na<SB>0.5</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>, (b) perovskite type BaTiO<SB>3</SB>and (c) Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, wherein the relative quantity of the (a) component, the (b) component and the (c) component are expressed by a general formula, Bi<SB>0.5-0.5a</SB>Na<SB>0.5-0.5a</SB>Ba<SB>a</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>+bNbO<SB>2.5</SB>and satisfy a condition of 0.03≤a≤0.06 and 0.01≤b≤0.04. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
