PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance measuring instrument and a resistance measuring method for accurately finding a resistance value without being affected by an offset error caused by thermo-electromotive force of a relay nor affected by thermo-electromotive force varying with time. SOLUTION: In this resistance measuring instrument, a voltage is applied to a resistance to find the resistance value of the resistance based on a current flowing through the resistance and on a voltage across the resistance measured via a relay. This measuring instrument is equipped with a measurement part for executing a measurement sequence A and then a measurement sequence B, and an arithmetic control part. The measurement sequence A is for measuring a current and a voltage across the resistance at each of a first measurement point and a second measurement point at which a voltage applied to the resistance is changed. The measurement sequence B is for measuring a current and a voltage across the resistance at each of third and fourth measurement points, the third measurement point being one end of a range that is obtained by widening the range of change of an applied voltage in the measurement sequence A and the fourth measurement point having an applied voltage changed in a direction opposite to that in the measurement sequence A from the third point. The control part is for finding a regression line from each of measurement results obtained in the measurement part to find the resistance value of each resistance from the slope of each regression line.
