PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a printer register a paper head autonomously even if the paper head position is not correct directly under the printing head after turning on the printer. SOLUTION: The printer is equipped with a paper information memory means for recording the printing start positional information of a printing paper, a printing means for applying the printing movement to the printing paper, a detection means for detecting the printing start position of the printing paper, a conveyance means for conveying the printing paper, and a power feed means for feeding the power to operate the printing means, the detection means and the conveyance means. Whenever the printing movement by the printing means is finished, the printing start positional information of the printing paper is written into the paper information memory means.
