A nonvolatile memory system and a method of managing file data thereof are provided to reduce the overhead and garbage collection of nonvolatile memory and to improve write and read performance by efficiently managing metadata. A nonvolatile memory(130) stores file data. A file system(120) manages static data and dynamic information of file data. The file system stores the static file information and dynamic file information in the nonvolatile memory. The static file information is stored before file data in the nonvolatile memory. The dynamic file information has the location information of file data and file static data. The dynamic file information is stored in the Meta area of the nonvolatile memory. The file system manages a file index table. The file index table has the location information of the dynamic file information.
