<p>A method and handheld terminal device for sending a message are disclosed, which lie in the field of mobile communication. The method involves providing a prestored identifier to a user when sending a message, receiving the message including identifier inserted by the user inputted by the user and recipient selected by the user, looking up the identifier included in the message in the identifier prestored, replacing the identifier in the message with a prestored content corresponding to the identifier and sending the replaced message to the recipient. The handheld terminal device includes: store module, receiving module, replacing module andsending module. It improves the feasibility of sending a message using handheld terminal device, brings more content can be inserted in the message and improve the individuation of sending a message. It can also avoid a mass of manual input of the user when the short messages are sent by group, reduce the complexity of operation and save the time for sending a message by group.</p> |
