摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make IP broadcasting receivable without interfering with band frequencies used by users as an Internet communication, in a passive optical network (PON) system by WDM (wavelength division multiplexing). <P>SOLUTION: The passive network optical system provides a first wavelength 8 through which each of ONUs 2 (optical network unit) is commonly received from an OLT 1 (optical line terminal), and a plurality of second wavelengths 9, 10 through which the OLT 1 and each of the ONUs 2 communicate independently. For a downward signal communication, each of OLTs 1 is equipped with a transmitter to transmit the first wavelength 8, and a plurality of transmitters to transmit each of the second wavelengths 9 for the utilization of the independent communication with each of the ONUs 2. Each of the ONUs 2 has the receiver to receive the first wavelength 8, and the receiver to receive the second wavelength 9 utilized in their own ONUs 2.
