PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift operation device capable of certainly visibly recognizing a function display part of a switch by a driver even at night. SOLUTION: A light-leading plate 14 comprising a transparent acrylic resin material is insertion-molded integrally with them in a form of straddling a switch body 8 and a lever 9 of a switch lever 2. A light source (LED 12) is arranged on an end surface at the lever 9 side of the light-leading plate 15, and the function display part 7 on which a shape of the function in a state that the switch lever 2 is operated is displayed is formed on an end surface at the switch body 8 side of the light-leading plate 15. When the LED 12 is lighted, the light is diffused while being reflected in the light-leading plate 15, and when the light arrives at the function display part 7, the shape of the function display part 7 is brilliantly displayed.
