PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cosmetic (washout hair conditioner, hair treatment, non-washout hair treatment etc.) having excellent touch in use and safety (low irritation) and a high transparent feeling. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic comprises (A) 0.1-10 mass% of a specific long-chain monoalkyl type cationic surfactant, (B) 2.5-30 mass% of 1,2-dodecanediol and/or 1,2-decanediol and (C) the balance comprising water and has the mass ratio of the component (B)/the component (A) of≥1.5, a viscosity of≥500 (mPa s/30°C) and an L value of≥20.
