PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which is useful for language learning by alternately reproducing foreign words and native words corresponding to the foreign words in synchronism with video. SOLUTION: A demultiplexing unit 12 demultiplexes a multiplexed signal, and the demultiplexed signal is subjected to decoding processing by a video decoder 13 and an audio decoder 14. A buffer 13a for video signal input and a buffer 14a for audio signal input temporarily store decoded video and audio data. A section detection unit 15 detects one predetermined voiced/voiceless section from the buffer 13a for video signal input and buffer 14a for audio signal input. A variable-speed processing unit 17 reads a set speed out of a storage unit 16 and varies the speed of the video-audio data according to the read set speed. The buffer 13a for video signal input and buffer 14a for audio signal input temporarily store the variable-speed processed video-audio data. A synchronous control unit 18 reads the video-audio data out of the buffer 13a for video signal input and buffer 14a for audio signal input, and synchronously reproduces them.
