<p>The present application relates to a method and system in an open access environment such as an ambient network. In the method, a connection is established between a service operator node (SN) and the user terminal (UE), via a network operator node (NN1). The system is arranged to compare access parameters (such access-type-specific charging rates) advertised by available network operator nodes (NN1, NN2) during the connection, and to select a network operator node (NN1, NN2) for providing the user terminal (UE) with access to a corresponding access network. The system preliminarily evaluates the amount of data to be transferred and the period of time to be spent for the connection within the area of the network operator node (NN1, NN2). The network operator node is then selected on the basis of the comparison, the evaluated amount of data, and the evaluated period of time.</p> |
