A polymer for liquid crystal alignment is provided to improve photosensitivity, anchoring energy, surface stability and thermal stability and to show excellent alignment state. A polymer for liquid crystal alignment has a structure represented by the chemical formula 1, the chemical formula 2 or the chemical formula 3. In the chemical formula 1, R1 is H or CH3; R2 is -O-, -NH-, - (C=O) -O-X-O-, - (C=O) -O-X-NH-, - (C=O) -NH-X-O-, - (C=O) -NH-X-NH- or -Ph-O-, wherein X is selected from -(CH2)a- or -Ph-; A is an integer of 1-12; Ph is a phenyl group; R3 is selected from the group consisting of the chemical formula (a); and n is an integer of 5-500.
