TRANSMIT ANTENNA SELECTION SCHEME FOR SPATIAL MULTIPLEXING IN MIMO SYSTEM

A transmitting antenna selection scheme for spatial multiplexing in an MIMO system is provided to select a transmitting antenna based on the small amount of calculation by performing a feedback operation about only an index of the selected transmitting antenna. The L number of sub-matrix Hs are extracted from the channel matrix H(S10), and the intrinsic values of the extracted sub-matrix Hs are summed(S20). The tr(HhsHs) is calculated about the selectable sub-matrix Hs(S30). The sub-matrix Hs which maximizes the calculated value is selected(S40). Therefore, a transmitting antenna can be selected without the matrix decomposition operation which does not require large amount of calculation.
