DEGRADATION METHOD OF ETHYLENE DICHLORIDE

A degradation method of ethylene dichloride is provided to suppress the generation of caulk by reducing the load of a pyrolysis reactor, and to increase the conversion ratio of an ethylene dichloride without an additional heat source. A degradation method of ethylene dichloride is to convert the ethylene dichloride into a vinyl chloride monomer by heat-degrading the ethylene dichloride by using ethylene dichloride degradation equipment containing a pyrolysis reactor. The degradation method comprises the steps of performing catalytic reaction of the product generated through the pyrolysis reactor by installing a catalyst reactor; and activating the inactivated catalyst by removing ethylene dichloride absorbed on the surface of the catalyst by purging nitrogen to the inactivated catalyst.
