BUOYANT INSULATION COMPOSITION FOR GARMENTS

A buoyant insulation composition for garments has a foam sheet made of a flexible and buoyant closed cell foam having a plurality of parallel rows of slits throug h the foam sheet. Each of the slits is offset from the slits in adjacent rows. There is then an inner elastic layer bonded across substantially all of an inner surface to the foa m sheet that functions to bias the slits towards a closed configuration.
