The method involves passing signals to transmitted (S-1-S-N) through switches (10-1-10-N) before the signal is combined into a wideband coupler (13) e.g. Wilkinson device, in a transmission mode. A signal to be received (S-R) is passed through the wideband coupler to divide the signal (S-R) into different signals in a reception mode. The signals from the coupler are transmitted to a combination stage and to a receiver (20) via the switches. A control signal is applied on the switches for passing into the transmission mode or reception mode, where the switches are formed by PIN diodes. An independent claim is also included for a device for switching operation of a device into a transmission mode or reception mode.
